Everyone here was so friendly and eager to please. It made me feel bad that I could barely understand some of them, with their heavy accents. Very touristy, the Royal Mile (which is actually longer than a mile by 107 yards).
Here is a map of the Royal Mile starting at the castle gates and dating from 1647... it still felt this crowded to me!
